Story By: STEVE PETTY / RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY – RANSOMVILLE, NY – The Ransomville Speedway will be hosting a kart driving class for younger racers on Saturday May 6th with Sunday May 7th used as a rain-date at the 1/16th –mile Little R.
The kart driving class will go over racing basics, flags, and also have on track time. Jeff Anstett and Shawn Jeffery from the NYDKS will be putting on the class. The karting class is strongly recommended for kids starting out in the novice class. Others wishing to re-freshen their skills are also invited. “This is a great opportunity for parents to introduce their kids to karting in a learning environment” explains Jeff Anstett from the NYDKS. “Sometimes kids can be intimidated going out for the first time, and we really want to help teach these kids karting the right way” Anstett added.
Gates will swing open at 8:30am with the class starting at 9:30am on Saturday May 6th with Sunday May 7th as a rain date if needed. There will be an open practice session starting at Noon after the class that is available to all karters. Admission for the class and practice session will be $12.00. Also available on May 6th will be kart memberships.
New this year is reserved parking for the karts. $50 is the price for the reserved parking with 100% proceeds going directly to the 2017 karting point fund. Ransomville General Manager Jenn Martin will be on hand to assign your spot. “We wil try our best to give everyone the same spots that they traditionally park in” Martin said. You can purchase your reserved parking spot at the Karting class on May 6th.

The Thursday night go-kart program schedule will kick off on Thursday May 11 with heats beginning at 7:00pm sharp. Racing will take place every Thursday night until August 31st for Championship Night. There will be a Summer Break night off on Thursday July 20th. The popular Powder Puff will take place on Thursday August 10th. The go-kart banquet and non points fun race will be held on Sunday September 10th.
