Story By: ROB HAZER / KING OF DIRT – FONDA, NY – Anticipation for the first ever King Of Dirt Small Block Modified tour is through the roof. Drivers from all over the Northeast are making plans to throw down for the crown. Thanks to Elmo’s Speed Supply in Ballston Lake, NY they’ll have a plentiful bounty for their eight-race effort.
Father-son duo of Elmo and Chris Reckner have long supported dirt track racing throughout the Capital District. Their support includes the Northeast Crate Nationals dating back to 2013 and King Of Dirt Racing since it’s inception. Their goal is simple; to have fun.
“We think what Hazer is building is great and we just want to follow the tour around and have a little fun in process,” said Elmo Reckner, co-owner of Elmo’s Speed Supply.
Elmo’s Speed Supply will provide the kick-start for the Small Block Modified point fund elevating the champions take to a minimum of $2,500. The rest of the point fund monies are gained through entry fee process and any other marketing partner(s) who support the series.
“The way we are going to build the point fund for the Small Blocks is almost identical to how we build it for the Sportsman and Pro Stocks. Each 358 race has a $25 entry fee per driver, which we put directly into the point fund. What Elmo and Chris are doing for us is a huge part of the Small Block program in 2017 by boosting the point fund from the get go,” said KOD Promoter Rob Hazer.
Elmo’s Speed Supply is located in Ballston Lake, NY and services a number of drivers in the Capital District with quality new and used parts. From rolling race rods to bolt on parts, their inventory will help get you on the winning track. Elmo’s is a full service speed shop and home to Small Block Modified competitor Elmo Reckner and the Wendy’s Cyclone Chassis.
“We’re excited to have Elmo’s title sponsor the division and it’s just the beginning, as other marketing partners for the Small Blocks will be coming soon,” concluded Rob Hazer.
King Of Dirt Racing has openings and packages for marketing partners who would like to join Elmo’s Speed Supply in being part of an epic Small Block Modified season, as the tour visits Albany-Saratoga Speedway, Devil’s Bowl Speedway, Fonda Speedway, Lebanon Valley Speedway, and Utica Rome Speedway.
With the schedule now set and the rules up on the website, it’s only a matter of time before a very busy season of racing gets underway for King Of Dirt Racing.
