Story By: ROBBY KNOWLES / AIRBORNE PARK SPEEDWAY – PLATTSBURGH, NY – Due to expected inclement weather over the next three days, Airborne Park Speedway has decided to cancel the car show and practice for this weekend at the track.
Speedway management noted that the reason for the early cancellation is related to the track.
“We want to make sure the surface is 100% ready to go before we have any cars on the track,” Promoter John Walker said. “With three days of rain expected, we will not be able to go through our regular routine. We can’t cut any corners on track prep for the first time out.”
We will have pre-tech available this Saturday, April 22 starting at 11. The tech officials will be at the track as long as cars remain. It would be a good idea to plan on getting to the track at a decent time. You may contact tech official Norm Guay, at (518) 572-8917 to notify him if you may be running late. NO cars will be allowed on the race track to practice next weekend without having pre-tech.
The next practice will be on Saturday, April 29. The car show will now take place next Saturday from 11-2 at the race track, with practice occurring that day also. All drivers are encouraged to show up at 11 for the car show, there is no need to email us to sign up.
Remember to log onto the website and download your drivers forms. These must be completed before you hit the track. These forms include, DIRTcar License, Team Registration and Media Information.
