Story By: MANDEE PAUCH / PAUCH RACING – SWEDESBORO, NJ – Billy Pauch Sr. debuted his retro No.15 Big-Block Modified in memory of his late father, Leroy Pauch, on Saturday night at Bridgeport Speedway.
“This car has a lot of different stuff on it,” Pauch Sr. noted. “I’m used to running torsion and coils in the front and this one is a four-coil car. It has a different suspension. It’s all experimental that nobody else runs so I really can’t get a lot of information from so I have to mostly pull it all on my own. I was pretty happy for it’s first time out.”
The night began with Pauch Sr. timing fastest overall in warm-ups, which had him feeling confidant going into the night.
Pauch Sr. rolled out second in his heat race and finished in second.
“We started third in the feature and finished second,” Pauch Sr. said. “The car shows speed. I think we can get some more speed out of it.”
Pauch Sr. is feeling confident after his Saturday night results with the new No.15 machine. “We were one of the fastest cars there,” he said. “I think I can get more out of it so hopefully we work at it and get a little bit better. The next show is going to be a little tougher because it’s a Super DIRTcar Series race. There will be a lot better cars there so we’ll need to step it up a little more.”
With the new experimental car, Pauch feels he has room to work with and hopes it’ll be a good car.
Next up Pauch Sr. will be at Bridgeport Speedway with the Super DIRTcar Series on Tuesday, May 16th. Billy Pauch Jr. will be back at Big Diamond Speedway on Friday, May 12th, New Egypt Speedway Saturday, May 13th, Action Track USA for their season opener on Sunday, May 14th and Tuesday, May 16th at Bridgeport Speedway.
