Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRENT MARKS RACING – JACKSON, MN – With the month of May officially in the books, Brent Marks Racing will move further down the highway, as well as further into the Upper Midwest, anxious for three World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series events at the Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota.
Marks, a current Rookie of the Year contender with The Greatest Show On Dirt, will enter the 39th Annual AGCO Jackson Nationals on Thursday through Saturday with eight top-ten finishes on the season, highlighting all recent results with a 12th place finish from the inside of row ten at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (NC) on Friday, May 26.
The AGCO Jackson Nationals, igniting officially on Thursday evening, June 1, will be highlighted with a $25,000-to-win finale on Saturday, June 3.
“I’ve heard a lot of great things about Jackson Motorplex,” Brent Marks said. “I’m excited to get there and see it for myself. Hopefully we’ll be in a position to contend for the big check on Saturday night.”
Memorial Day weekend was action-packed for the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks; making the long tow back to Pennsylvania after competition in Charlotte to compete with the “Pennsylvania Posse” during the annual Bob Weikert Memorial preliminary on Saturday, May 27. Marks finished 11th officially; his first start at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” since his victory on April 22. Other recent results include finishing 25th during World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series competition at Lawrenceburg (IN) Speedway on Monday, May 29.
“It has been a tough few weeks to say the least,” Brent Marks explained. “We just have to stay focused and not allow ourselves to get frustrated. It’s tough out here, especially at tracks where our experience level is minimal – besides what we watch on online videos. We’re going to keep moving forward. We’ll build some rhythm soon and get back on our feet.”
