Story By: BOBBY CHALMERS / CP RACING – EAGLE BRIDGE, NY – Last week, Chad Pierce had a good run going until an accident stopped his progression to the front. This week, he was able to keep his nose clean and came away with his second top 10 finish of 2017.
“We had a good car tonight, but we still have some work to do,” Pierce said. “It’s comfortable to me, but we need to get to the point where we can move forward a little easier.”
Pierce brought his H. Sausville Construction, Walt’s Service Center #83 machine home tenth when the evening was over, which helped him move up one spot in the season-long point standings. He now 10th in Small Block Modified points at the speedway, just 28 markers behind fifth place Olden Dwyer
“We’re working hard each week to work our way up the point ladder,” he said. “My guys are busting their butts in the shop and at the track. I can’t thank them enough for the effort their putting in. The car is getting better, but we need just a little bit more to be consistently up front.”
The next event on the CP Racing Team’s schedule will be Saturday night at the “Valley of Speed” as ARG Trucking & Doherty Bros. Construction present a great night of racing action. Gates open at 5pm.
