Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / HOLTGRAVER RACING – PITTSBURGH, PA – For the first time in 2017, “Downtown” Danny Holtgraver made an appearance with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, joining “America’s Series” for a pair of events at Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park on Friday and Saturday, June 2-3, respectively.
Although Holtgraver’s season has been limited, only making three prior starts in 2017 before the All Star invasion of Western Pennsylvania, his ability to maneuver a 410 cubic inch sprint car has not dwindled; scoring a runner-up finish on Friday night at Lernerville Speedway, followed by a charge from 22nd to tenth at Mercer Raceway Park.
“It feels good to come out of the box and be quick like that,” Danny Holtgraver explained. “I got my start racing in Western Pennsylvania at tracks like Lernerville and Mercer, so it’s always nice to get back to those places and race in front of people we know. Our results were a little better on Friday night at Lernerville, but we had a ton of fun all weekend.”
Danny Holtgraver will not return to competition until Sunday, June 18, when the former Lernerville Speedway track champion visits Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pennsylvania, for the Father’s Day Spectacular. The pilot of the Bonnell’s Rod Shop, Alternative Power Sources, Ambulance Information Management, Gulf Coast Flooring, DKW Transport, North Hills Auto Body, Westview Motors, No. D4 will then rejoin the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions at Sharon (OH) Speedway on Tuesday, June 20, during Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket.
