Story By: JEFF CIGLICH / DIRT MODIFIED NOSTALGIA TOUR – PLATTSBURGH, NY – The all new Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour series heads to Airborne Park Speedway this coming Saturday night as part of the track’s Legends Night.
The event will be race number two of the four race mini series which kicked off last week at the Can Am Speedway in LaFargeville, NY.
Series regulars John Stanley of Kingston, Ontario and Tyler Reynolds who hails from Lyn, On will continue their quest to strap the Championship Belt around their waist in the Modified division while Forrest Port, NY native Matt Larrivee will look to keep the pressure on Tim Hegarty of Kingston, Ontario for the Nostalgia division title.
Mahopac, New York’s Rob Casti will be in competition with his Carl “Fuzzy” Van Horn tribute car, Suzi Roy from Oxford Station, On will be looking for more seat time in her Ford Falcon bodied Q36. Athens Ontario native Nathan Berry will be looking for his first win of the season after being snake bit the last two weeks in a row with last lap incidents at Brighton and Brockville and Paul Pekkonen of Brockville, Ontario will assume the driving duties this week in the #19 machine taking over from Megan Ciglich who ran the car last week at Can Am.
There will be $160.00 up for grabs in laps money, the top 3 Nostalgia cars will receive $75.00, $50.00 and $25.00 respectively as part of the Mohawk Valley Community College Airframe and Powerplant Technology’s “Nostalgia Heros”. The Modified division will see the same purse paid thanks to John Stanley Trucking. Predator Automotive will provide a $25.00 Hard Charger award and the MVCC “Maintenance” or Hard Luck will be worth $35.00.
The green flag drops at 7 pm.
