Story By: DALE WOLBRINK / TRI-TRACK OPEN MODIFIED SERIES – SEEKONK, MA – The second race of the Northeast Racecars Tri-Track Open Modified Series (TTOMS) is set for Saturday, July 29 at Star Speedway in Epping, NH and the winner is set to take home a healthy payday. Series officials recently announced the purse for the upcoming 125-lap event that includes a winner’s share of $6,000 and $1,000 to take the green flag. Bonus money will be paid out as well.
“This is what this series has always been about, it is really what Jim Schaefer and Dick Williams have always been about,” said the series managing partner, Wayne Darling, “making sure the competitors get a strong payout. These guys have always worked really hard to make sure that happened and continue to do it today. “
The SBM 125 event for the Modifieds has been a mainstay at the historic NH track for several years. Under the direction of the Tri-Track Open Modified series the tradition continues with strong car counts and fierce competition.
Matt Hirschman of Northampton, PA took home the victory in the opener for the TTOMS at Seekonk. And, while “Big Money” has been red-hot this summer, a host of strong contenders will look to take home the victory. Hirschman is the defending and three-time champion of the event.
