Story By: ANTHONY CORINI / BRENT MARKS RACING – MYERSTOWN, PA – In typical Brent Marks fashion, the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/ Eagle Hotel/No. 19 came forward in the Feature on Saturday night at Fulton (NY) Speedway, this time to a strong sixth place finish. Marks qualified well and ran third in his heat race, lining him up ninth for the 25-lap Feature.
Marks was strong on multiple restarts in the Feature and spent the majority of the final ten laps battling with the “Wild Child” Jac Haudenschild for the fifth position. Marks ended up finishing behind the Ohio Hall of Famer by less than a car length.
Marks has moved up to 11th in the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series point standings in his inaugural season with The Greatest Show on Dirt, as his team prepares for a race they’ve had circled all year long – a return to the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania.
Marks, a nearby Myerstown native, has a victory at Port Royal this year during unsanctioned competition and will be looking to score a first career World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series win this weekend in front of his hometown crowd. Following the trip to Port Royal, Marks and the rest of the World of Outlaws will head north to New York to compete in a pair of rain-date events at the Weedsport Speedway and Ransomville Speedway on Sunday and Monday the 16th and 17th of October, respectively.
“I’m thrilled to have earned a solid run on Saturday at Fulton,” Brent Marks explained. “We really needed that finish. Now we can head to Port Royal with some momentum on our side. I’m definitely ready to get back there. Our goal is to put ourselves in a position to contend for the win. We did it once this year, but now we get to try with the World of Outlaws.”
