Story By: SHAWN MILLER / BIG GAME MOTORSPORTS – WINDOM, MN – Kerry Madsen will lead Big Game Motorsports into a busy week of World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series competition in the West.
The Muddy backed team is scheduled to race on Wednesday and Thursday at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas in Las Vegas for the FVP Outlaw Showdown and on Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway in Perris, Calif., for the SoCal Showdown.
“I’m excited to get back in the Big Game car to see if we can build on the speed we had in Florida earlier this month to start the season,” Madsen said.
Madsen has been fast at both tracks during his career. He’s earned at least one top-10 finish per season at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas during each of the last five years, including a pair of top 10s last year. His career-best result at the half-mile oval is a fifth-place finish, which came in both 2013 and 2014.
“The key is being able to change lines at the right time throughout the race,” he said. “The groove will change and you have to be on top of it.”
Madsen has been equally as successful at Perris Auto Speedway, where he captured a World of Outlaws win in 2007. He has recorded a top-10 finish during four of five visits to the track, including a sixth-place result in 2015 during his most recent race there.
“Perris can be a really fun track when it’s prepared well,” he said. “It can have a top and a bottom and be really racy.”
