Story By: TOBY LAGRANGE / CRSA – MALTA, NY – The SuperGen Products with Champion Power Equipment CRSA Sprint Car Series heads up Interstate 87 to the Albany-Saratoga Speedway Friday evening. The event will be the first of the season at the Lyle DeVore promoted facility in 2018.
In 2017 Rotterdam’s Josh Pieniazek picked up the 20 lap A-Main win. The win came over Kyle Smith, Mike Kiser, Billy VanInwegen and eventual series champion Jeff Trombley. As it will be in 2018, the event was part of the Kennedy’s of Troy Northway 90 Challenge – a mini-series within the schedule. Trombley would go on to be the mini-series champion.
Heading into the eighth round of the season at Albany-Saratoga, Trombley holds a solid 14 point advantage over second place Thomas Radivoy in the season long standings. The winner a few weeks ago at the Afton Motorsports Park, Tyler Jashembowski sits third with Emily VanInwegen and Justin Mills completing the top five.
One race has been held in the 2018 Kennedy’s of Troy Northway 90 Challenge. After that event at the Fonda Speedway, Jeff Trombley holds the points lead over Radivoy, Prince, Jerry Sehn and Emily VanInwegen.
