Story By: STEVE PETTY / RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY – RANSOMVILLE, NY – This coming Friday night, “The Greatest Show on Dirt”, the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars return to the Ransomville Speedway in the second running of the Big R Outlaw Shootout presented by Busch Beer.
The Investors Service Sportsman will also be heating up the track and a fireworks display will light up the sky. The Big R Outlaw Shootout is also sponsored by Stirling Lubricants, Huron Plumbing, Wasik Farms, Stevenson’s Hardware, Krown Undercoating, Relco Systems, and Advanced Demolition Services
After the original race day got re-scheduled to being rained out last season, the Outlaws returned last October and saw one of the fastest tracks of their 2017 season Donny Schatz shattered the previous track record with a 12.629-second lap, which is a 105.472mph lap around the Big R! Out of the 32 World of Outlaw Craftsman Sprint Cars that took time in qualifying, 30 of them broke the previous track record set back in 1997 by Mark Kinser at a 14.360-second lap. The 2017 edition of the Big R Outlaw Shootout saw “The Steel City Outlaw” Tim Schafer bring home the checkered flag. Brad Sweet, Shane Stewart, Donny Schatz, and David Gravel completed the top five.
Joining the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series is the Investors Service Sportsman division. The Sportsman has been highly contested this season with seven different feature winners. Garrison Krentz, Derek Wagner, Kevin Wills, and most recently Chris Burek have two wins each while Adam Leslie, Cody McPherson, and James Henry bringing home one checkered flag.

Pit gates will open at 2 pm. The Will-Call Ticket Window will also open at 2 pm with grandstands opening at 4 pm and hot laps beginning at 6:30 pm, with racing getting underway at 7:15 pm. A limited number of presale tickets are still available by calling 1-844-DIRT-TIX. General admission tickets will also be available the day of the race. Grandstand admission is $40 for adults and seniors. Kids admission is $12 for kids aged 8-12. Pit admission is $35 for members and $40 for non-members.
