Story By: STEVE PETTY / RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY – RANSOMVILLE, NY – The second annual Sid Jeffery Memorial will highlight the racing program on Friday, September 7 at the Ransomville Speedway. $2,000 will await the winner of the Sid Jeffery Memorial for the Krown Undercoating Modifieds with nearly $3,000 being handed out in lap sponsors and contingencies.
The Sid Jeffery Memorial is one of the more lucrative races in the region. Also on the racing card will be the annual stop by the Sportsman Super DIRTcar Series plus Street Stocks, 4 Bangers and Novice Sportsman. The night of racing is presented by Jeffery Machine, Performance Manufacturing, Allstate Insurance, Niagara Frontier Publications, and Painters Plus.
“We would like to express our appreciation to the Atwal Family for allowing us to have this annual race in honor of our father Sid Jeffery”, commented Mike Jeffery. “The Atwal’s have gone above and beyond all expectations to put this race on”, Jeffery added. Jeffery also expressed his appreciation to the staff and management of Ransomville Speedway. “Without the hard work and dedication of Ransomville Speedway and all the staff members, this race wouldn’t be as big as it has become”. The Sid Jeffery Memorial will be highly contested by the top 358 Modified drivers in the region and by the Ransomville regulars who look to defend home turf, including 13-time track champion Pete Bicknell, and 2017 Sid Jeffery Memorial winner Matt Farnham. Southern Ontario Modified standout Gary Lindberg will also be in attendance.
The night also features the annual visit by the Sportsman Super DIRTcar Series. The top Sportsman drivers from Western and Central New York will be joined by the top drivers from Southern Ontario. 2018 Investors Service Sportsman Champion Brett Senek will be joined by the Ransomville stars looking to defend home turf against the touring invaders.
