Story By: JR KENNERUP / AFTON MOTORSPORTS PARK – AFTON, NY – The final event to close out the 2018 racing season at the Afton Motorsports Park will be the season ending Banquet. The Banquet will take place on Saturday January 26th, 2019 at the Afton River Club, which is located just off Route 41 and one minute north of the speedway.
Doors will open at 5 pm, with buffet style food serving starting at 6 pm sharp, awards to follow, and the festive evening will conclude at 11 pm.
Brett Tonkin, Dennis Clapperton, Corey Cormier, Butch Green, Beau Ballard, Tyler Stoddard, and Ralph Cuozzo will all be honored as Afton Motorsports Park 2018 Track Champions.
Last years Banquet held at the same venue received rave reviews for some of the best food ever served at a racing banquet. The exact same menu will be served this year, which includes eye – o – round roast beef, virginia baked ham, real mashed potatoes, vegetable medley, salad, desert, and rolls / butter. There will be a cash bar available all evening long with yet to be announced drink specials going on all evening long.
Tickets are now on sale for $45 per person with full payment made by a check or money order ( no cash please ) sent to; Afton Motorsports Park, 178 Howe Lane, Afton, NY 13730. No tickets will be sold at the door and the deadline to order tickets is Saturday January 19th, 2019.
The top five in point standings for the ZMK Construction Modifieds, Chambers & O’ Hara Open Sportsman, Butler Auto Sales Crate Sportsman, The Throphy Guy IMCA Modifieds, and Rinker Insurance Agency Street Stocks will be honored with point money and trophies. While the top three in Four Cylinder Trucks will also be honored with point money and trophies.
All drivers are reminded that it is MANDATORY to attend the Banquet to receive your point money.
Also on this night the Most Popular Driver Awards will be presented. These awards are voted on by the fans who purchased the Afton Motorsports Park Racing Program throughout the season and filled out and turned in the ballot that was in the program.
After the awards and point money is distributed, DJ Bob will provide the musical entertainment with plenty of room for dancing being available.
