Story By: JOHN TIFF / UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY – VERNON, NY – Ted’s Body Shop came aboard in a big way in 2018 at the Utica-Rome Speedway by taking title sponsorship of the DIRTcar Pro Stock division. After a successful first year, the family owned business is returning for a second season as the presenting sponsor.
The business, located in New Berlin, N.Y., has always taken an interest in racing. Over the years they have had their name proudly displayed on the side of several race cars that have competed at the Utica-Rome Speedway. In 2018, the business adorned the side of the Pro Stock track champion Travis Welch and second high point man Mike Welch. For Travis it was his first ever Utica-Rome Speedway championship.
Ted’s Body Shop, located on 90 South Main Street in the small community of New Berlin, has been family owned and operated for over 33 years. They do full auto body repair as well as operating a full mechanical repair shop. They also offer New York State Inspections. Ted’s Body Shop can also provide rental cars and towing services if necessary. Ted’s Body Shop is part of the NAPA AutoCare network of trusted, locally owned repair facilities.
Drivers looking for an opportunity to take the track before the season officially gets rolling on April 14 will have that chance on Sunday, April 7. The scheduled go time for practice is 2pm with gates opening at noon. All divisions are welcome to take to the speedway.
The 2019 season gets started on Sunday, April 14 with the running of the Spring Break Shootout featuring the big-block Modifieds in a 30-lap feature for $2,500 to win, the DirtTrackDigest.com DIRTcar 358-Modifieds, Broedel Fuel Group DIRTcar Sportsman and the Ted’s Body Shop DIRTcar Pro Stocks. Racing is set to get underway at 6pm.
