Story By: DAVE BUCHANAN / RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY – RANSOMVILLE, NY – Ransomville Speedway had the intention of getting the 2019 season on track tonight, but the saturated parking lots and pit area have made that task too difficult. Speedway officials have been forced to cancel racing for May 17.
“We really wanted to race tonight, but the sun did not come enough this afternoon to help dry things up,” said Jenn Martin, Ransomville Speedway general manager. “The racing surface is ready, but we can’t get a break from the rain long enough for the parking areas to dry up even just a little bit.”
This pushes the start of the 2019 racing season to Memorial Day weekend as next Friday, May 24, 87Buf and Triple T Auto present a $2,000-to-win Modified special and a 4-Cylinder demolition derby. The Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds will now open their season with the first of four $2k-to-win races on the schedule. The Investors Service Sportsman, Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks, Gippster’s Collision Mini Stocks and Stevenson’s Hardware Novice Sportsman will also be in action. Racing starts at 7:15 p.m.
