Story By: BOBBY CHALMERS / CODY BLEAU RACING – DEFREESTVILLE, NY – When times get tough, it shows just how determined a person or team can be. Well, this past weekend at Fonda Speedway was a rough one for Cody Bleau and the Greg’s Towing #73 team. However, they will rebound and be stronger than ever starting this week at the ‘Track of Champions.’
Saturday was Twin 20’s for the Modifieds at the Mohawk Valley oval and Cody was involved in an accident in the first race and finished 22nd. He didn’t have any better luck in the second feature, either, as he was unable to move forward in the main event and brought the DKM #73 home in 16th.
“It was a very frustrating night for all of us,” Bleau said. “I hit water on the outside line of turn four and went into the wall in the first feature and couldn’t really pass or go forward in the second race. It was just a bad weekend.”
But, as said before, adversity will show just how strong of a group this Hoyenga Racing team is.
“Even with the tough runs, my guys are buckling down to figure out a way to get back on track this weekend,” he said. “We’ve been on the upswing as of late, and I know this is just a small hiccup. We’ll get the momentum back because I know I’ve got one of the best teams in the business. We all want to win in the worst way and that is our ultimate goal right now.”
Up next for Cody and the #73 team will the Bill Ag Memorial Modified Match races a regular Modified feature. Starting time will be 7pm.
