Story By: BRETT DEYO / FONDA SPEEDWAY – FONDA, NY – The history of Fonda Speedway is a book of legends, memorable moments and milestone events.
This September, another chapter will be written in the lore of the Track of Champions when the Fonda 200 weekend returns Thursday-Saturday September 26-28.
The 200 offers up the most lucrative winner’s share in Fonda Speedway history, with $53,000 awaiting the Sunoco big-block/small-block Modified victor from a posted purse structure of more than $125,000.
The 200 is just part of a three-day racing festival planned for the Montgomery County fairgrounds with a full schedule of activities on and off the track on the agenda.
With the 200 looming, Fonda Speedway management has announced the rules, race procedure and complete pay structure. Pre-registration for the event is now open as well.
“After much conversation with fans and teams, we wanted to come up with a format for the 200 that is both entertaining for those in the grandstands and affordable for competitors,” Fonda Speedway promoter Brett Deyo said. “What we came up with should be attractive for competitors of all budgets and build even more anticipation for this milestone event.”
