The final event of the 2019 season for the Utica-Rome Speedway comes this Saturday afternoon as racing action hits the half-mile with the DIRTcar Sportsman, DIRTcar Pro Stocks and the Rookie/Novice Sportsman taking to the speedway.
For the DIRTcar Sportsman, this is the final event of the VP Racing Fuels Summer Shootout Series. The 50-lap feature will pay $1,000 to win with $100 going to each driver making the 30-car starting field. Joining the Sportsman is the DIRTcar Pro Stocks as they compete in 50-lap affair of the own. The Rookie/Novice Sportsman will have a 15-lap feature as well as heat races. All heat race line-ups will be determined by luck of the draw when drivers enter the speedway. The feature for the Sportsman will redraw the starters at the front of the field which will be determined by car count. A maximum of 12 drivers will redraw.
During intermission, kids are invited to the pit area for autographs as well as trick-or-treating. Race teams as asked to bring candy to pass out to kids and encouraged to bring photos, sponsor cards or anything else to autograph for kids coming into the pits.
Utica-Rome Speedway will run the program off quickly in order to forgo the cooler evening temperatures.
The grandstands admission price for this event is $13 with seniors/military members/students costing $10. Kids 16 and under are free. Pit prices for the event are $30 for adults, kids under 15 are just $15 for pits. Pit gates will open at 11:00am while spectator gates open at 12pm. Racing starts at 2pm.
