Story By: ANDREA LARSON / KYLE LARSON RACING – MOORESVILLE, NC – With the off-season upon us, Kyle Larson Racing is pleased to announce that Lucas Oil has extended their partnership with the team.
Lucas Oil will be featured on Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) standout, Kyle Larson’s, self-owned No. 1k midget, in addition to extending the associate sponsorship on Carson Macedo’s No. 2 for the 2020 World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season.
With the MENCS season coming to a close and finishing sixth in the championship point standings, Larson will head to his home state of California to launch his “off-season” back on the dirt. Lucas Oil will come aboard the Elk Grove native’s KLR No. 1k for six different midget events this winter including this week’s Hangtown 100 at Placerville (Calif.) Speedway and the November Classic at Bakersfield (Calif) Speedway in addition to the Turkey Night Grand Prix at Ventura (Calif.) Raceway, the Gateway Dirt Nationals at the Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Mo., and rounding out at the prestigious Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Okla.
Lucas Oil Director of Motorsports Tom Bogner is excited to expand their relationship with Kyle Larson Racing for the 2020 season.
“Dirt racing has played a pivotal role in the success of Lucas Oil and I’m thrilled that we are able to take our partnership with Kyle Larson Racing to the next level,” said Bogner. “I first met Kyle 10 years ago when he was racing sprint cars in Australia and I’ve always been impressed with his talent, commitment and dedication to the dirt racing community. I have no doubt that Kyle will continue to be both successful on the track and a terrific ambassador for the sport off of it and we are proud to once again be a part of his team.”
Lucas Oil had previously partnered with Macedo in Joe Gaerte’s No. 3G since 2017 and joined Kyle Larson Racing at the beginning of this season when the duo took over as driver and crew chief of the KLR No. 2. Lucas Oil was also an associate sponsor on the Silva Motorsports No. 57 piloted by Larson.
“Lucas Oil has been involved in grassroots racing for several years and I am excited to have them extend their partnership with KLR,” said Larson. “Dirt racing is a big part of my career and to have Lucas Oil support not only our World of Outlaws team with Carson [Macedo] but to join the midget program as well is pretty special.”
