Story By: ERNIE SAXTON / GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – Young Dylan Swinehart led early in the Grandview Speedway 30-lap NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Racing Series T.P.Trailers Modified feature, gave up the lead while Jeff Strunk, Brett Kressley and Tim Buckwalter battled for the top spot.
Then, he took back the top spot in the final lap to grab the Saturday night victory.
Brian Hirthler was able to get his second win of the season taking the top spot in the 25-lap T.P.Truck Equipment Sportsman main event.
Brett Kressley dropped out of the Modified main with mechanical issues with a handful of laps remaining. Strunk and Buckwalter went side by side for several laps battling for the win and made contact putting both out of action.
Swinehart was able to lead Jared Umbenhauer across the finish line followed by Brad Grim, Duane Howard (who qualified through a consolation race) and point leader Doug Manmiller. Twenty nine Modifieds took the green in the main event.
Mike Mammana, who led for much of the Sportsman main event, finished second. Third spot went to Jesse Leiby followed by Jack Butler and Kyle Lillick. The $100 track bonus for the top finishing Crate Sportsman went to Leiby.
Next on the schedule at Grandview is an action packed July 18th tripleheader that will feature the United Racing Club Sprint cars, T.P.Trailers Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman. Expected to head up the action for the Sprinters will such standouts as Josh Weller, Adam Carberry, Curt Michael, Austin Bishop and a host of others.
All three divisions will take part in qualifying events leading up to a 25-lap feature for the Sprinters, 30-lap feature for the Modifieds and 25 laps for Sportsman. The stock cars are all part of the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series.
Adult admission is $25 while youngsters 6 through 11 pay $5. Under 6 are admitted free. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. while racing gets the green at 7:30 p.m.
