Story By: FLORENCE SPEEDWAY – UNION, KY – Florence Speedway officials are pleased to announce that our 2021 schedule has now been posted on the schedule page at florencespeedway.com.
This year’s schedule will be our most ambitious ever with 30 event nights and more big events than ever. In total, we have 7 events that pay $10,000 to win or more. Included in that are our season opening Spring 50 paying $10,000 to win, the 35th Annual Ralph Latham Memorial paying $15,000 to win, a $10,000 to win on Wednesday June 2nd that is part of the new Castrol Floracing Night in America series, and a Special Thursday event July 1st to kick off the holiday weekend.
Those all lead up the Sunoco North/South 100 weekend with the $10,000 to win Lucas Oil sanctioned North/South Shootout and the 39th Annual North/South 100 paying $50,000 to win. We will cap our schedule of $10,000 to win races in October as the 12th Annual King of Compacts makes its first appearance at Florence Speedway with a $10,000 to win to prize.
The King of Compacts is one of the biggest Front Wheel Drive car races in the country and is sure to bring the best of the best in that division to Florence Speedway October 1st and 2nd. There will also be additional $5,000 and $3,000 to win special events for our Late Models, and special events for all of our divisions throughout the season.
In addition to the high paying events, we will have a healthy mix of regularly priced shows and reduced price events. Included in this will be our popular Fan Appreciation Nights, a new $5 admission night, and the return of our Free Night in the Dirt with Free general admission for all. We will also have a number of reduced admission nights throughout the season which will not feature our Late Model Division.
With Late Model car counts dropping across the country and especially in this region, we worked with some of the other tracks in the area to schedule off nights for the Late Models. This will allows cars to travel to other tracks or to take a night off depending on their situation.
One other change this year is we will be increasing the base purses in all of our regularly scheduled divisions. Late Models will now race for a minimum of $2,000 to win each week. Mod payouts will be $1,000 to win weekly. Crates will now race for $800 to win.
The G&G Express Sport mods will now pay $500 to win. And our Hornet division will now pay at least $300 for all feature events. You can see our complete weekly purse structures in the driver’s section at florencespeedway.com.
With the schedule released, Season Passes are now on sale. General Admission passes are $325 and Pit Passes are $700. Season Passes are good for all racing events during the 2021 season.
