This Money in the Mountains race has been a staple of the Big Diamond schedule since 2013. Friday’s MITM race will be the eighth time the race has been run. Previous MITM race winners include Ryan Watt (2015 & 2017) who remains the only driver to win the race more than once, Jeff Strunk (2013), Ryan Godown (2014), Rick Laubach (2016), Duane Howard (2018) and Craig Von Dohren (2019). Last year’s MITM race was not run due to the late start of the season.
This year’s MITM race will be feature a 40-lap race with $5,000 going to the winner. The competition is tough this season in the modified division at Big Diamond and the extra money being offered this week will be extra incentive to get up on the wheel and go for the big bucks. Timmy Buckwalter and Billy Pauch Jr have won the two modified features so far in 2021.
Dirttrackdigest.TV will also be sponsoring a Modified “Dash for Cash” with $400 going to the winner and $50 for the other participants courtesy of the good folks at Dirttrackdigest.TV where you can watch all the action at Big Diamond Speedway via pay-per-view every Friday if you cannot make it to the track.
Friday’s race will be 40 laps in distance with $5,000 going to the winner. The rules have changed up this year with only PA spec head 358 motors and big block motors being allowed.
