Story By: CHRIS MOORE / UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY – VERNON, NY – This Friday, June 11, Utica-Rome Speedway hosts the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modifieds (MVVDM) for the first time in 2021. The MVVDMS will join the five regular divisions on Friday night at the Route 5 oval.
The Sunoco Modifieds, Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman, Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks, Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman and Cool Stuff Antiques Four Cylinders are the regular divisions at the ‘Home of Heroes.’
The Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman will race for one of their biggest winner’s shares of the year, running their normal 25 laps, now for $1,500-to-win.
Savannah, N.Y.’s Matt Sheppard heads the class for the Sunoco Modifieds with three consecutive runner-up finishes heading into the June 11 program. Oneida, N.Y.’s Matt Janczuk sits atop the Crate 602 Sportsman standings with his pair of wins and runner-up last week.
The Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks see a tie atop the standings as Nick Stone and Beau Ballard, both winners this season, sit at 168-points each. Clayton DuMond, like Matt Janczuk, leads the Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman with two wins and a second-place finish.
Justin Pope and Wayne Russell sit at 120 points each in the Cool Stuff Antiques Four Cylinders, both winning the first two events for the Dual and Single Overhead Cam Four Cylinders.
For the June 11 program, all gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with racing beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $12. Seniors (ages 65 and up) pay $10. Kids 11 and under are FREE.
Pit Admission is $30 for Utica-Rome Speedway members and $35 for non-members.
