Story By: JOHN SNYDER / OCFS – MIDDLETOWN, NY – Competitors in all seven racing divisions—United Rentals Big-Block DIRTcar Modifieds, H.O. Penn Small-Block Modifieds, Arkel Motors Sportsman, Street Stocks USAC Wingless Sprints, Short Track Super Series Modifieds, and Pro Stocks—will see their posted purse and lap prize money enhanced by more than $20,000 in special awards and lap-leading money during the four-day 60th Annual Eastern States Weekend, Thursday through Sunday, October 21-24 at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York.
In addition to the $40,000-to-win with $1,500 to start the headline United Rentals DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds Eastern States 200 Presented by T-Mobile for the ground-pounding earth-shakers, the winner of the Race to the Pole race will earn a $1,500 bonus from T-Mobile, while the second-place Race to the Pole finisher will bank $1,000 from Powder Tech Powder Coating.
Drivers finishing third through sixth in time trials will each receive a $100 bonus from E. Tetz & Sons. Each heat race winner and the two Last Chance race winners will receive $100 Gift Cards from Behrent’s Performance Warehouse.
The leader of each sponsored lap in the 200 will see his prize money increased by $25, with the exception of the $1,000 Busch Beer Halfway Lap Award from Dana Distributors and $660.66 for Lap 66 in Memory of Jared Petruska from the Petruska Family and Friends. The 11th place finisher in the 200 will take home $511 in Memory of Joanne Stevens from the Stevens Family and Friends.
Other Big-Block Modified special awards include the $1,000 Superior Remodeling Hard Charger Award; the $500 Wicked Truck Worx Rookie of the Race Award; each of the top-three finishers in the 200, $150 Gift Certificates from Penske Shocks; $50 from Competition Carburation for the fastest lap of the race; a $50 Gift Card for the Most Laps Led as well as a $200 Hard Luck Gift Card from East Coast Speed; two tires given randomly from the race finishing order by Hoosier Tire; and for the winning crew chief and pit crew, a case of Bud Light from Dana Distributors.
Special Awards for the 100-lap $20,000-to-win with $500 to start Hauser Brothers Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors Presents the H.O. Penn Small-Block Modified Eastern States Championship race include $1,000 Pole position from Aden Aggregates and $500 Outside Pole starting position from Evergreen Fuels. Those who time trial third through sixth will each earn $100 gift cards from Behrent’s Performance Warehouse. Winners of Small-Block Modified heats and Last Chance races will each take home $100 from WLR Construction NY. The Hard Charger will see his winnings increased by $500 from Escape Powersports Plus, while Mike Sparta Trucking will present the halfway leader also with $500. Each sponsored lap will pay the race leader an additional $20, with $111 to the 11th place finisher In Memory of Joanne Stevens from the Stevens Family and Friends.
Other Small-Block Modified awards include $150 Gift Card Hard Luck Award and $50 Gift Card for Most Laps Led both from East Coast Speed, $50 for the fastest lap of the race, $300 to the Rookie of the Race from Wicked Truck Worx, $150 Gift Certificates to each of the top-three finishers from Penske Shocks; $50 from Competition Carburation for the fastest lap of the race, one tire given away randomly from the finishing order by Hoosier Tire; and a case of Bud Light to the winning crew chief and pit crew from Dana Distributors.
Special awards for the 50-lap $5,000-to-win with $250 to start Fox Shocks Presents the Arkel Motors Sportsman Eastern States Championship race include $500 to the pole position winner from Wicked Truck Worx, and $300 for the outside pole slot from POWDER TECH-Powder Coating. Heat and Last Chance race winners will each get $75 Gift Cards from Interstate Batteries. The leader of each sponsored lap will bank an additional $15.

The Crackers Motorsports Marketing LLC Eastern States Street Stock race is set for 20 laps, paying the winner $1,000 with $100 to start. In addition, the halfway leader will bank $250 from Rock Fantasy-Steve Keeler, with another $250 hard charger from FDI & Saloon Bleu. Frank Frasco Home Inspections will brighten the day of the hard luck recipient with $100. Always Hair has $100 for the rookie of the race, while the driver turning in the fastest lap of the race will receive $50 from Competition Carburation. In Memory of Joanne Stevens from the Stevens Family and Friends, the 11th place finishers will bank an additional $111. Dana Distributors has a case of Bud Light for the winning crew chief and pit crew.
The Bulldog Concrete Eastern States Pro Stock Race is set for 25 laps, paying $2,000 to win and $150 to start also has several special awards awaiting the competitors. Heat and Last Chance race winners will each earn $50 from Northeast Happy Hour with Predmore & Murns, while FDI & Saloon Bleu will award $300 to the hard charger, $300 to the halfway leader, and $100 to the hard luck driver. The rookie of the race will win $100 from Always Hair; Competition Carburation has $50 for the fastest lap of the race, and the 11th place finisher will earn $111 extra In Memory of Joanne Stevens from the Stevens Family and Friends. Friday night’s Short Track Super Series race—50 laps with $5,000 to win—has its own special awards program, but Dana Distributors will see that the winning crew chief and pit crew has a case of Bud Light with which to celebrate their victory.
