Story By: CJB MOTORSPORTS – CARLISLE, PA – With two final nights on the 2021 racing season, Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports took to the World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway on Friday, November 5th and Saturday, November 6th.
The CJB #5 timed quickest with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series on Friday, November 5th.He then won his heat race, finished 8th in the DirtVision Dash and then 11th in the feature.
Back again for the finale of their 2021 season, Bayston and company timed in 7th in their group, finished 4th in their heat race and charged from 14th to 8th to end the year with a top-10 finish.
“Overall I consider it to have been a successful weekend for our team,” Bayston said. “Our priority these last handful of races has been preparing our package for the 2022 season. To start the weekend with a QuickTime on Friday is a testament to the speed our guys already have in the 5. From there were were able to try and work around a few different changes we had in mind to be better prepared for the first race in Florida. Speed is seemingly not always easy to find so to already have that under our belt gives my guys the additional time to focus on making our program as prepared and professional as possible. Looking back on the few races we were able to run at the end of this season I am confident our speed will carry through the winter in order to have a strong start for the beginning of the season. Knowing Barry and this team have prepared for many (World of) Outlaw seasons has me even more looking forward to next year. With my limited experience on the road it is going to be a huge booster for my confidence knowing what this team is capable of.”
Overall, the team employed five drivers at various points in the season to achieve their stated goal of contending for race wins. The team did collect two victories this season as well as six Quick Times, 10 Top-5’s, 34 Top-10’s, 11 heat race wins and four dash wins.
The RE Pierson Constructions, Nyce, Crete and Landis Block and Concrete, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Marchant Cattle Co. Signing Day Sports, J.R.C. Transportation, Inc. and High Performance Lubricants #5 will be in action again with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series in 2022. the team wishes to thank each and every partner, team member, driver and fan that made 2021 possible.
