Qualifying Night for the first-ever Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Halmar International ‘Elite Series’ event is now aligned with one of the motorsports industry’s most recognizable brands.
Penske Racing Shocks (PRS) has signed on as title sponsor of ‘Qualifying Night’ at the ‘Place Your Mama Warned You About’ on Friday, Feb. 25.
The ‘Rebel 50’ on the red clay in Gaffney kicks off with an open practice on Thursday (Feb. 24), Penske Racing Shocks Qualifying Night on Friday (Feb. 25) and the B-Mains and main events for both the STSS Modifieds (50 laps, $25,000 to win) and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman (30 laps, $2,000 to win) on Saturday (Feb. 26).

‘Not Your Mama’s Heat Races’ is the theme of Penske Racing Shocks Qualifying Night at Cherokee.
The 20-lap STSS Modified qualifiers pay $1,000 to the winner of each with the runner-up taking $750. Fifth-place finishers get $325 and drivers eighth through last collect $200.
The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman qualifiers will be 15 laps in distance with the winner of each collecting $500 and the runner-up taking $375. Drivers finishing eighth through last will receive $100.
In addition to presenting Qualifying Night at the ‘Rebel 50,’ Penske Racing Shocks will be a presenting contingency sponsor of the STSS all season.
STSS Modified drivers finishing first ($150), second ($75), third ($50) and 10th ($25) will receive Penske Racing Shocks certificates in every series race in 2022.
