Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – It was a wild week in the Sunshine State for Jonestown, Pennsylvania’s Brock Zearfoss.
Despite opening his World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series sophomore campaign with a 17th-place finish on night one of the annual DIRTcar Nationals, a six-spot rally after starting 23rd, the “Jonestown Jet” perceived in fantastic fashion, ultimately bouncing back to finish 14th and 11th in the final two nights, respectively.
Zearfoss, driver of the Brock Zearfoss Racing/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Heavy Equipment/Loaders & Parts Inc./C&D Rigging Inc./Klick Lewis Cars/J.P. Adamsky Trucking/Berkebile Oil Company/X-1 Race Cars/No. 3Z sprint car, not only finished 11th to cap Volusia Speedway Park’s DIRTcar Nationals, but the former World of Outlaws winner earned a victory during his respective heat race resulting in a dash start shortly thereafter.
In total, Zearfoss advanced nine feature positions during the three-race affair with his only negative stat occurring during the weekend finale; falling from eighth to finish 11th.
“Not a bad way to get the year going. Hats off to this entire team. The work hasn’t stopped since last season ended, so I owe everything to their hard work and determination,” Zearfoss said, who finished ninth in the 2021 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series driver standings. “Things were tricky on Thursday with the track being so quick and heavy, but to regroup like we did says a lot.
“We’re anxious to get the playbook out and see what we can do on our way west.”
