Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / JW MOTORSPORTS – VINCENTOWN, NJ – Justin Whittall’s 2022 campaign is set to activate in less than a week, ready to join his fellow Pennsylvania Posse competitors in Lincoln Speedway’s annual Icebreaker scheduled for Saturday afternoon, February 26th.
The Pennsylvania lidlifter will award a $5,000 top prize, officially opening another winged sprint car season in the heart of competitive Posse Country.
“I think we’re ready to go…it’s been long enough,” Justin Whittall said, driver of the JW Motorsports, JG Kronenberger Fine Jewelry, Mid-Atlantic Transport, Pioneer Auto Body, Worldwide Bearings, Enterprise, No. 67 sprint car. “Hats off to this entire team and all of our dedicated partners. The off-season seems long, but it goes by fast. It takes a lot of hard work and long hours to prepare a team for a season in Central Pennsylvania…I believe we’re just about there. Hopefully we can roll out of the box and get our season going in the right direction.”
Despite frequent snow squalls and frigid temperatures, Whittall’s momentum from a season ago remains hot, hitting the new year with a victory under his belt at Williams Grove Speedway – the first of his young career – as well as a near-top-ten result against the Greatest Show On Dirt at Port Royal Speedway. Other 2021 season highlights include a podium run in Port Royal’s April Open Wheel Madness program, and top-ten outcomes in Selinsgrove Speedway’s Jack Gunn Memorial and Jim Nace Memorial, respectively.
“We have a lot of momentum on our side and that’s exciting,” Whittall continued. “To get that first win means so much to me and the team. That was the best night of my career, but we’re hungry to do it again. That’s priority number one: get back to victory lane.”
