Information By: SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – GAFFNEY, SC – Teenager Logan Watt of Boyertown, Pa., registered his first career Short Track Super Series Crate 602 Sportsman victory Saturday night in the 30-lap, $2,000-to-win event at Cherokee Speedway.
The silky-smooth Watt, the son of former series Modified champion Ryan Watt, stalked leader Doug Kline before taking command two-thirds of the way through the main.
Watt outdistanced a hard-charging Payton Talbot to etch his name in the series’ record books.
With a bold last-lap, last-turn three-wide pass Mike Nagel Jr. split the middle to take the final podium position. Kline and Jeff Watson completed the front five in the scramble to the Sunoco Race Fuel checkered flags.
