Story By: BRETT DEYO / SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – LAKE CITY, FL – Due to persistent overnight rain in the Lake City area, Tuesday night’s Open Practice for the ‘Sunshine Swing’ at All-Tech Raceway has been postponed until Wednesday morning.
Gates will open at 9 a.m., with cars on track at 11 a.m. for practice. Two hours of track time is planned.
The surface will be reworked after practice for Wednesday night’s program, which will kick off four nights of ‘Sunshine Swing’ racing. The evening event has hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.
Teams wishing to pick up advance sale wristbands or purchase wristbands for the week can do so today (Tuesday) at the track from noon to 2 p.m.
American Racer tires will be available today (Tuesday) from 1-3 p.m. at the speedway.
On Wednesday (Feb. 9), racing for the week begins with a 30-lap, $4,000-to-win feature event for the STSS Modifieds. The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman race for 25 laps and $1,500-to-win on the opening night of the week.
The following (Feb. 10) night, the stakes are raised for the STSS Modifieds in a 35-lap, $5,000-to-win feature event. The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman run another 25 laps for another $1,500 payday to the winner.
Friday night (Feb. 11), the purse grows for both the STSS Modifieds and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman with just two races remaining in the week.
The Modifieds go 40-laps on Friday night with $6,000 allotted to the winner, while the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman race for 30 laps and a $2,000 winner’s share.
The ‘Sunshine Swing’ concludes on Saturday (Feb. 12) as the stakes get raised to the most lucrative all week. The Modifieds race for 50 laps in search of the $8,000 winner’s share.
The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman run for 30 laps and $2,000 to win for the second consecutive night to round out the week of racing in the Sunshine State.
