Sophomore Competitor David Burns Is Ready For The 2022 Season At New Egypt Speedway

Story By: NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY – NEW EGYPT, NJ – Coming off a very successful rookie season, Flemington’s David Burns has his sights set on that first modified win when the 2022 season rolls around at the New Egypt Speedway on April 2nd.

The 21-year-old made the jump from the sportsman ranks early in 2021 and had several top ten runs before motor issues sidelined the team late in the season.

Once again driving for Resnick Racing, Burns will find himself in a ‘20 Bicknell powered by a Gary Bouc motor. Sponsorship for the team will come from Flemington Dept. Store, Braddock Chiropractic, and Active Disposal.

A four-time winner in the sportsman division, Burns will find himself competing against not only a host of new talent at the Route 539 oval but a strong field of seasoned veterans. The combination will no doubt make the upcoming modified season one of the most competitive in the speedway’s twenty-five-year history as a dirt facility.

Preping the speedway for the big silver anniversary season, track management is looking to not only give the historic speedway a different look but add several new fan friendly features. New clay was added to the 7/16 oval back in November giving it the necessary time needed to blend with the existing surface.

The Cabin Fever 40 for the Vahlco Wheels Modifieds will set the 2022 season in motion with the Crates, Larry’s Hot Rods and Harley’s NEWS Sprints, 4-Cylinders, and Rookies on the schedule as well.
