
Story By: STEVEN PETTY / HUMBERSTONE SPEEDWAY – PORT COLBORNE, ONT – The Canadian Dirt Racing Academy will have sessions for open-wheeled Modifieds and Sportsman (April 16-17) and for all Sprint Cars (April 23-24) at the Humberstone Speedway.
The two-day academy gives those in attendance the chance to learn from the top drivers and experts from across the province.
Times will be from 8 am-6 pm for both sessions with the cost of $400 for the car and driver plus one crew member, $500 for the car and driver plus two crew members. For those just attending the classroom setting, the cost is $175.
On April 16-17, drivers competing in the Sportsman and Modified divisions across the province and more can come and hear the thoughts and processes from two-time and reigning Super DIRT Week Modified 200 winner Mat Williamson as well as Randy Williamson from Bicknell Racing Products. Mat has been one of the top superstars across the Northeast for several seasons and Randy Williamson is one of the best to teach and show how to get racecars prepared.
On April 23-24, the Academy will shift its focus to Sprint Cars as Jordan Poirier will be featured with guest speaker Kevin Loveys from Glenn Styres Racing. Both Poirier and Loveys bring years of experience to share with those in attendance. From 8:30 am-12:30 pm, the session will begin in the classroom then after lunch, the attention turns to the track for the driving school portion where both Jordan and Kevin will be available via radio communication.
The Canadian Dirt Racing Academy for Modified/Sportsman is being presented by S&W Service Centre, Semenuk’s Esso, Gaston’s Auto Sales, Stirling Lubricants, and NAPA Auto Parts. The Academy for the Sprint Cars is presented by Glenn Styres Racing, Corr/Pak Merchandising, Zanchin Truck & Trailer, Epic Racewear, and Pro Fabrication.
