Story By: STEVE INCH / SELINSGROVE SPEEDWAY – SELINSGROVE, PA – Selinsgrove Speedway is gearing up for the start of another grand motorsports season with two high-profile events this month featuring the Short Track Super Series modifieds on Saturday, March 19, and the Lelands.com 410 sprint cars on Sunday, March 27.
Speedway officials will be at Selinsgrove Ford for Race Day at the Dealership 10 a.m.–2 p.m. this Saturday, March 5. Race fans can pick up 2022 printed schedules and renew their season reserved seats and VIP suites. The deadline for season renewals is March 5.
Weather permitting, there will be a race car display at Selinsgrove Ford and the brand-new 2022 F-150 pace truck will be unveiled.
The speedway’s first on-track event will be Practice Day 1-4 p.m. Saturday, March 12. Any division on the 2022 schedule is invited to the test and tune session. Gates will open at 12 p.m. Grandstand admission is free and pit passes will be $25 on Practice Day.
For the second year in a row, the Short Track Super Series modifieds will officially open Selinsgrove Speedway’s season at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, in the $5,000-to-win Icebreaker 40. The crate 602 sportsman modifieds will also be on the dual-card program in a 25-lap feature paying $1,500 to win.
Pit gates on March 19 will open at 10 a.m. with grandstand gates at 11 a.m. Hot laps are slated for 1:15 p.m. and qualifying at 2 p.m. Adult general admission will be $20 with students (12-17) $15. Kids 11 and under are admitted FREE general admission. Pit passes will be $40.
To close out the track’s opening month, the Lelands.com 410 sprint cars make their season debut at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 27, in a 25-lap feature paying $5,000 to win. Joining the 410 sprint cars will be the MAPCO Machine Shop limited late models competing in a 20-lap main event for $1,200 to win. The A&A Auto Stores roadrunners will round out the afternoon’s three-division program.
Pit gates on March 27 will open at 11:30 a.m. with grandstand gates at 12 p.m. Adult general admission is set at $20 with students (12-17) $15. Kids ages 11 and under are admitted FREE general admission. Pit passes will be $30.
Looking ahead to next month, the Selinsgrove Ford super late models will make their first start of the season at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 2, along with the first appearance of the season by the Apache Tree Service PASS/IMCA 305 sprint cars and A&A Auto Stores roadrunners.
