Column By: MIKE TRAVERSE / RPW – WALKILL, NY – Second generation Street Stock racer Anthony Tarantino has been racing since 2019. Since then, he has done nearly all of his racing at Accord Speedway.
For 2022, he will be racing the Street Stock schedule at the Orange County Fair Speedway.
“We are looking to run Middletown for a full schedule this year. The race schedule works very well for me. It will give me time to spend with my family. Middletown will be our main focus,” Anthony said.
Anthony’s dad, Ray Tarantino, is one of the more successful Street Stock racers in OCFS history. He has recorded 22 wins at the 5/8ths Hard Clay. And now, his son wants to take his shot at the House Of Power.
“I want to be able to contend for the championship down there,” Anthony said.
Anthony started racing in the 4 Cylinders at Accord in 2019, finishing in the top 5. He recorded a 4 Cylinder win with Jeff DeGroat. In 2021, he moved up to the Accord Pure Stock division driving for Gary Ronk.
Sponsors for Anthony include Gary’s Truck & Auto (Modena, NY) and Dawes Septic & Repair (Modena, NY).
Anthony thanks Gary Ronk and his father Ray for all their help with his racing effort.
It’s a family group that helps out and keeps Anthony on the track. And that includes his dad, Ray, his mom, Megan and his girlfriend, Courtney Ronk.
It’s always great to see another generation take to the track, especially in the local Street Stock/Pure Stock division. Good Luck to Anthony Tarantino as he takes on the new challenge of the OCFS Street Stock division.
