Story By: CHRIS MOORE / SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – MILLSBORO, DE – The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco treks to Central Pennsylvania for another ‘Keystone State two-step’ in just two weeks’ time.
On March 19-20, the STSS visits Selinsgrove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway on back-to-back days.
For the second consecutive year, Selinsgrove Speedway hosts the ‘Icebreaker 40’ at the Snyder County facility. The STSS Modifieds race for 40 laps and a $5,000 top prize and $500 to start the main event. Selinsgrove plays host to Round No. 2 of the Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply South Region for the STSS Modifieds.
The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman will also be on hand for the ‘Icebreaker,’ battling for 25-laps and a $1,500 winner’s share in Round No. 2 of the Belmont’s Garage South Region.
For the March 19 event, pit gates open at 10 a.m. with grandstand gates unlocking at 11 a.m. Hot laps begin at 1:15 p.m. with racing underway at 2 p.m.
General Adult admission is $20. Student (ages 12-17) admission is $15 (reserved seating adds $2) and Kids 11 & under get in FREE. Pit admission is $40.
One day later the STSS returns to the ‘Speed Palace’ for the eighth time in its history. The ‘Spring Speed Showcase 40’ mirrors the purse of the day before at Selinsgrove Speedway.
The STSS Modifieds race for a $5,000 triumph in a 40-lap main event at the sprawling half-mile in Juniata County. The event serves as the third round of the Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply South Region.
The Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Super Late Models join the STSS Modifieds in a 30-lap feature event, giving Central Pennsylvania fans two headline divisions on the same day.
For the March 20 event, all gates open at 1 p.m. with hot laps to begin at 3:30 p.m. and racing to follow at 4 p.m.
Adult admission is $25. Students (ages 13-18) admission is $15 and Kids 12 & under get in FREE. Pit admission is $35.
