
Column By: TOM WENNER / RPW – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – Jordan Henn had a great VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker 60 night Saturday at Grandview Speedway.
Immediately after driving 60 Laps in the Modified race and finishing seventh, He jumped out of the Modified #77 and buckled into the Sportsman #4R for the last race on the night.
Henn and this #4R have a special relationship – Turn back the clock to the ‘21 season on 9/17/21 – Jordan Henn was the winner in the Freedom 38er at the Grandview Speedway in this exact ride.
The Sportsman feature event on Saturday was a special event. The entire race was completed in about 7-10 minutes. It went non-stop Green-to-Checker and was some outstanding racing action among the young guns of the sportsman field sprinkled in with the some veterans challenging for the Sportsman victory.
Kudos to the Grandview Sportsman Teams in competition for putting on a great show.
Dakota Kohler and Mark Kemmerer led the field to the green flag. Mark Kemmerer took command and sped of to an early lead. Kohler, Henn, Manmmiler, Leiby, Bauman, Grim and Clay trailed behind.
As the laps quickly clicked off, Brian Hirthler moved into the top 10 on lap 2.
With 5 down, Kemmerer had a strong lead with Henn now to 2nd, Kohler 3rd, Manmiller 4th, Leiby 5th, Bauman 5th, Dylan Swinehart 6th, Ryan Grim 6th, Brian Hirthler 7th.
As the field hit 10 down, the leaders were now approaching lapped traffic. Kemmerer was still the leader, but Henn had run him down and was pressuring for the lead.
On lap 13 Jordan Henn made the pass for the lead. Kemmerer moved to 2nd, Cody Manmiller into 3rd now, Jimmy Leiby was 4th, Dakota Kohler was 5th, Bauman was 6th, Dylan Swinehart 7th, Grim 8th, Brian Hirthler 9th
The race remained caution free and laps were clicking off at a rapid pace. Jordan Henn and the top 10 were well into lap traffic putting on an incredible show for the fans.
As the field came for the lap 21 and 4 to go Jordan had control of the race. Behind him the race for 2nd and the top was heating up. Running order Henn, Leader with Kemmerer still controlling 2nd, Manmiller in 3rd, Leiby 4th, Kohler 5th, Bauman 6th, Dylan Swinehart in the Bauman team car 7th, Brian Hirthler in the Four Star in 8th.
The last 4 laps went off without a hitch as the race went completely caution free. Jordan Henn, From Kutzown PA scores the popular Sportsman win and caps a strong night in both divisions. Finishing in 2nd place with a strong run on the night was Mark Kemmerer in the F10.
Cody Manmiller bring the OO home 3rd, capping a great night for the Manmiller family. 4th goes to Jimmy Leiby in the 9L, Jimmy scoring a Sportsman Top 5 and a 15th in the Modified event. 6th goes to Logan Bauman 14, 7th Dylan Swinehart in the 14 Bauman team car, 8th Brian Hirthler in the Four Star Bicknell, 9th to Ryan Grim in the 119, and Matt Clay in the 21.
