Column By: ROBERT SYMONDS / RPW – SHINNSTON, WV – In the last five years, Brandon Sheppard and Rocket1 Racing have been crowned World of Outlaws Late Model Champion four times.
However in 2022, this will change as Sheppard and Mark Richards have announced they will be pursuing the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship in 2022.
Right now, the Valvoline Rocket House Car is currently on top of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings. In reality, over the last few years, Brandon Sheppard has left Florida-Georgia Speedweeks being the driver to beat as he was typically in the top 3 of both World of Outlaws and Lucas Oil point standings.
Will he stay up there all season long? Statistically it is possible however Sheppard and his crew will be facing the best of the best in Dirt Late Model competition for 50+ events left in the 2022 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule.
When it comes to those numbers, it is all about patience and stamina.
Coming up next for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be two points events, Tri-City Speedway on Friday April 29th and Macon Speedway on Saturday April 30th.
Keep it locked here on Race Pro Weekly to see how things will shake out for the Rocket1 Racing Team.
