Story By: ROBBY KNOWLES / AIRBORNE SPEEDWAY – PLATTSBURGH, NY – Racing action resumes this Saturday evening at Plattsburgh’s Airborne Speedway for Law Enforcement Night presented by Riley Ford.
All four of Airborne’s regular racing divisions of J&S Steel Sportsman, Hartson Total Opening Renegades, Taylor Rental Street Stocks and Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman will be in action. Regular distance heat and feature races will be contested for all four divisions, with show up points on the line for the Sportsman division, as a DIRTcar Sportsman Series event is taking place at Bear Ridge Speedway that night.
Two of the three champions from a year ago have picked up right where they left off. Nate Smart has picked up checkered flags in both Street Stock feature events, which has given him a 14-point lead through two events. Zack Daniels has his #30 Renegade back on top of the point standings with his victory in the first feature event of the season. Last season’s Sportsman Champion, Travis Bruno, currently sits fifth in points.
Post time has shifted back to 6 p.m. this Saturday evening, with grandstands opening at 4 p.m.General admission is set at $10, with children under age 10 admitted free of charge. Additionally, complimentary grandstand admission will be offered for any active or retired law enforcement members with proper identification.
