Story By: CHRIS MOORE / SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – WEST HAVEN, VT – A new chapter. For the first time in its history, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco heads to the State of Vermont for the ‘Slate Valley 50’ at Devil’s Bowl Speedway.
On June 19, Devil’s Bowl Speedway becomes the 29th circuit visited by the STSS in 10 different states since its inception in 2014.
The inaugural ‘Slate Valley 50’ serves as Round No. 5 – the halfway point – of the River Valley Builders North Region $15,000 championship chase.
The STSS big-block/small-block Modifieds pursue a $10,000 top prize in the Green Mountain State, the first of two consecutive $10,000-to-win features on the North Region tour. The race also pays $500 to take the green in the maiden voyage to Devil’s Bowl Speedway.
The Sportsman, Limited Sportsman, and Mini Stocks – all under Devil’s Bowl Speedway sanctioning – will complete the June 19 program.
The Father’s Day Special comes just 12 days after Round No. 4 of the North Region – the ‘Battle at Bloomsburg’ at Bloomsburg (Pa.) Fair Raceway. The annual North vs. South combination race carries points for both the River Valley Builders North Region and the Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply South Region.
