
Story By: LUCAS OIL LATE MODEL DIRT SERIES – BATAVIA, OH – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series heads to Huset’s Speedway on Tuesday, July 19th for the inaugural visit of the series.
Huset’s Speedway, carved from a soybean field in 1953, is a 1/3 mile high-banked bull ring located just outside of Brandon, South Dakota. The track that originally opened in 1954 has closed at different times over the years, most recently re-opening in 2020.
Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series teams will compete in a full program of Dirt Draft Hot Laps, Allstar Performance Time Trials, Heats, B-Main(s), and the $10,000-to-win A-Main event. In addition, the Tri-State Late Models will also be in action.
The pit gate will open at 2:00PM CT with the general admission gate opening at 4:30PM CT. On track action will begin at 6:30PM CT with hot laps.
The reigning Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champion, Tim McCreadie holds a 100-point advantage over Brandon Sheppard going into Tuesday night’s show. Ricky Thornton Jr is third in points with a tight battle for fourth between Tyler Erb and Hudson O’Neal. Garrett Alberson currently leads the O’Reilly Auto Parts Rookie of the Year chase.
