Story By: KING OF DIRT – FAIR HAVEN, VT – Currently just 20 points separate the top 10 drivers in Fastline Performance King Of Dirt Racing Overall Championship Point standings presented by Swagger Factory Apparel.
Matt Janczuk, Travis Bruno, Tim LaDuc, Ryan Stabler, Luke Horning, and Stacy Jackson all visited victory lane this past holiday weekend.
Every registered KOD racer has one goal; to earn their best 12 finishes and see where they rank on the leaderboard. Mother nature has hampered some tracks, and others just started the season later than most, but there is plenty of racing left and right now there is a wicked points battle brewing. Every race matters where one finish can help a driver climb or fall in standings.
Let’s get our trio of highlighted ‘podium’ driver started with Utica Rome Speedway competitor Matt Janczuk. The ‘sheriff’ earned his third win of the season over July 4th weekend, making the Oneida, NY hot shoe rocket up the leaderboard to third. He visited victory lane Friday at Utica hustling his Billy Whittaker Cars & Trux – Ted’s Body Shop number 33X to his 60th career win.
Airborne Speedway racer Travis Bruno was another registered KOD competitor to earn his third win of the season over the holiday weekend. The Morrisville, NY driver sits 12th on the leaderboard currently leading all registered Airborne drivers. With plenty of racing left he’ll surely climb the leaderboard with his Adirondack Siding – Apple Valley Hydraulics 33R Bicknell.
Our third and final highlighted driver is Orwell, VT driver Tim LaDuc who calls Devil’s Bowl Speedway home on Saturday nights. This season he seems to have a thing for winning extra distance races paying more greenbacks. He picked up his third win of the year this weekend wheeling his Hulbert Supply – LaDuc’s Home Care number 54 Bicknell chassis.
OVERALL KOD CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES: Holiday scheduling and mother nature have some tracks a little behind with less races run than other tracks. There is still plenty of racing left, as every race scheduled at a driver’s home track is an opportunity to post a finish towards their best 12. Twin 20’s, mid-week special, or yearend spectaculars – every race matters.
Cornwall Motor Speedway competitor Ryan Stabler scored his second win of the season. He’s one of the top Sportsman racers at Cornwall and with his KOD credited win climbed up the standings just a bit. Cornwall is one of the speedways slightly behind due to starting their season late, but count on Ryan being in the mix by seasons end with his Next Level Home Improvement – TMS Motorsports number 77# Bicknell chassis.
Cousin Luke Horning from Fonda Speedway is one of the Pro Stock racers holding down a top 10 spot in point standings for the full-fender fans. Luke earned his first victory of the season at the track of champions this past weekend wheeling his Classic Muscle Parts – RCT Roofing number 2H Playfab chassis.
One last note, Woodhull Sportsman Modified top gun Stacy Jackson has been consistent in 2022 and earned his first victory of the season as well. He claimed the King of the Bullring victory during the holiday weekend adding his name to the growing list of all-time KOD winners with his BH Hauling – Howard Hannah Reality number 22J HigFab chassis.
