Story By: TOM BOGGIE / ALBANY-SARATOGA SPEEDWAY – MALTA, NY – Last-minute sponsorship deals keep rolling in for Malta Massive Weekend at Albany-Saratoga Speedway.
Bart Contracting, one of Albany-Saratoga’s loyal corporate sponsors, has added a number of bonuses to the modified, sportsman and pro stock divisions for this weekend’s Malta Massive Weekend, which will be held Friday and Saturday at the historic track in Malta.
The Bart Contracting bonuses will include:
- $200 bonuses for modified heat race winners on both Friday and Saturday.
- $100 bonuses for sportsman heat race winners on Friday and for pro stock heat race winners on Saturday.
- A $500 bonus to any Albany-Saratoga regular who wins Saturday night’s 100-lap Super DIRTcar Series race.
- A $250 bonus to any Albany-Saratoga Speedway regular who wins the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series race on Saturday.
Malta Massive Weekend, presented by NAPA, will begin on Friday, highlighted by a 40-lap feature for big block and Malta-legal small block modifieds, which will pay $4,000 to win.
The winner will also be guaranteed of starting no deeper than 13th in the field for Saturday night’s Super DIRTcar Series race.
The Friday card will also include the 40-lap Fall Sportsman Championship, which will pay $2,000 to win, through sponsorship from Glen Ridge Motorsports Park.
Street stocks and four-cylinders will also be in action on Friday. The winner of the Lake Auto Parts Street Stock feature will take home $1,000, thanks to sponsorship from Meltz Lumber. In addition, the payout will include $500 for second, $250 for third, $150 for fourth and $100 to fifth.
The main attraction on Saturday will be the 100-lap Super DIRTcar Series race, paying $10,500 to win, and the winner will also receive a guaranteed starting spot in the Billy Whittaker Cars 200 at Oswego Speedway next month. The extra payoff to the winner of the 100-lapper is courtesy of the Native Pride program.
The DIRTcar Pro Stock Series will also be competing on Saturday. Meltz Lumber has added $500 to the purse, so the winner of that feature will receive $1,500.
Also on the Saturday night card will be limited sportsman.
