Story By: MICHELINA FRISS / DIRTCAR – OSWEGO, NY – With the support of new and long-time partners, the 50th Running of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week will boast a more than $400,000 total purse for the week of racing, Oct. 3-9.
Along with celebrating the historic 50th Running of Super DIRT Week, the event will also honor the 10th consecutive year that NAPA Auto Parts has served as the event’s title sponsor.
Joining NAPA as a long-time returning sponsor is Billy Whittaker Cars & Trux, entering its sixth consecutive season as the sponsor of the Super DIRTcar Series 200-lap, $50,000-to-win, Billy Whittaker Cars 200 (Sunday, Oct. 9).
CASE Construction Equipment joins as a new partner this year, supporting the event in multiple facets, along with serving as the official construction equipment company for the Super DIRTcar Series and sponsoring Ken Schrader’s DIRTcar Pro Stock for the event.
The familiar gold bowtie will don the DIRTcar Sportsman main event once again for the Chevrolet Performance 75 – taking place on Sunday, Oct. 9.
When it comes to the essential tires and fuel, Hoosier Racing Tire and VP Racing Fuels have become synonymous with NAPA Super DIRT Week and DIRTcar Racing throughout the Northeast. They’ll both continue to be suppliers of those essentials for competitors throughout the week.
DIRTVision will again be the official Super DIRT Week live broadcast partner, broadcasting live the entire week of action from Oswego Speedway and the event’s two satellite shows at Weedsport Speedway (Tuesday, Oct. 4) and Brewerton Speedway (Wednesday, Oct. 5).
For the special events this year, Bart Contracting Co. is sponsoring the Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, Oct. 3, which is also supported by John Wight and the Brewerton Speedway and Fulton Speedway families, J&J Supply of NC and Milton Hershey School are sponsoring the Pancake Breakfast on Wednesday, Oct. 5, and the City of Oswego Parade on Wednesday is presented by Harborfest.
Nearly $15,000 in special awards will be available to drivers across all four divisions – Super DIRTcar Series, DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman and DIRTcar Pro Stocks. Providing awards for all four divisions will be SRI Performance/Stock Car Steel & Aluminum (Pole Award), Finishing Touch Construction (Outside Pole Award), DIRTVision (Last Chance Showdown Awards), Bart Contracting Co. (Hard Luck Award), K1 Race Gear (Last Car/Finisher Award), Dig Race Products (Halfway Feature Leader Award), Integra Racing Shocks (Last Car on the Lead Lap Award), Fastline Performance (Lap 50 Leader Award), Penske Racing Shocks (Hard Charger Award) and Area Auto Racing News (Best Appearing Car Award). MPI will also provide a First Non-Qualifier Award for the Super DIRTcar Series, DIRTcar 358 Modifieds and DIRTcar Sportsman.
