Bayston and CJB Motorsports, led by veteran mechanic Barry Jackson, earned two victories in their World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year pursuit, collecting a winning share of $35,000 including a $25,000 check in Bristol Motor Speedway’s Bristol Bash on April 30. The team’s second triumph occurred at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota, on June 22.
“Definitely a bittersweet weekend for this CJB Motorsports team,” said Spencer Bayston. “I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished including the Rookie of the Year award. I feel that we’ve made a lot of progress this season, but we still left a lot on the table. I think that makes us even hungrier for the new year.
“Having the opportunity to compete for a top tier team like CJB Motorsports with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series is something every young racer dreams about. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities that Chad Clemens and Barry Jackson have given me. I’m excited to see what the future brings us.”
