Story By: WORLD OF OUTLAWS – CONCORD, NC – James McFadden will continue to drive for Roth Motorsports on the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car tour in 2023 with one major change; they will take Toyota Racing Development, USA (TRD) along for the ride as they will utilize Speedway Engine Development Inc. and Rider TRD engines in the season ahead as they chase after the Series championship.
“We have been extremely pleased with how the end of the 2022 season has gone with James McFadden, Crew Chief Brent Ventura, and our mechanics Rob Beattie and Gary Patellaro and we are hoping to take this momentum into 2023,” said Roth Motorsport owner Dennis Roth. “We are also extremely thankful to be extending our partnership with TRD and know they have a product more than capable of putting us in a great position night in and night out.”
Winning at Lakeside Speedway in mid-October, McFadden ended a personal drought with The Greatest Show on Dirt and pulled Roth Motorsports to 99 wins with the Series, and has eyes on getting Roth to the century mark in 2023.
“I am pumped for the opportunity to drive the iconic Roth Motorsports No. 83 for another year on the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink tour,” McFadden said. “I am extremely thankful for the faith that Dennis and Teresa Roth have in this team, and I think this season was a great steppingstone for us heading into 2023. Having Toyota aboard as part of the program is an added bonus as their brand is successful at everything they are a part of. Getting the opportunity to run the Toyota Racing Development engine the last few weeks has given us a head start on the program, and I know they have a great product moving forward. I am hoping to do Roth Motorsports, as well as the TRD team proud each night, and I know I am extremely hungry to be a contender night in and night out.”
Spending much of 2022 with the Roth Motorsports car utilizing TRD engines in the Midwest and on the West Coast, Brent Ventura took over the Crew Chief duties with McFadden and company and has quickly gelled with the Australian driver. Racking up numerous podiums and a win together, Ventura is excited for a full season with McFadden and is equally as happy to continue working with Toyota TRD as they continue to develop their 410ci engine.
“I am really excited to continue working with James McFadden as well as Rob and ‘Wood’, in 2023,” Ventura said. “This last month of the season has been a blast, and we are all very happy with how things have been going. I am very thankful that Dennis and Teresa Roth ,as well as my dad Todd Ventura, have the confidence in me to put me back on the road full time with this team. I am also happy to continue the relationship I have personally developed with Toyota TRD and am excited to have their engines on the road with us. It is an honor to work with such a great company and they are really working hard on their product, and I believe it will no doubt be something special when they have it perfected.”
The 2023 World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season will commence at Volusia Speedway Park during DIRTcar Nationals, Feb. 9-11.
