Column By: TOM WENNER / RPW – SCHNECKSVILLE, PA – Tanner VanDoren, the 15-year-old racer from Schnecksville PA, is looking for a breakthrough season in 2023 with added financial support of Joseph Adamsky’s J.P. Adamsky Trucking LLC.
The young gun embarks on his second season behind the wheel of a Big Block Modified in ’23. A brand new 2023x Bicknell Dirt Modified with be debuted at the Pioneer Pole Building Motorsports Show in Oaks, PA next weekend.
The brand new ’23 TVD Racing #22 Bicknell car will revealed to the public in premier form in the Dig Racing Shocks booth at the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports show.

Joseph Adamsky and the VanDoren family have been friends for over 10 years. Joseph has provided financial support to Tanner for many years dating back to the quarter midget racing days for Tanner. The family relationship dates way back to when Tanner’s father, Jay was driving a race car.
Joseph Adamsky owns a 410 Sprint Car Team that was raced at Port Royal Speedway in 2022 by Curt Stroup. The Adamsky owned #19 Sprint Car piloted by Curt Stroup finished in 25th in points at Port Royal. Joseph’s son Brody Adamsky has raced USAC East Coast 360 Sprint Cars & a 305 Sprint Car in a Joseph Adamsky owned ride in years past. Joseph Adamsky provides support to the Brock Zearfoss #3z World Of Outlaws Sprint Car Team as well.
The TVD Racing team is well equipped to start the 2023 season. A brand new ’23 Bicknell will be at the PPB Motorsports Show, while a 2nd brand new 2023x Bicknell is in the garage at home. The teams engine inventory will be well equipped with a pair of Big Block Modified Powerplants and a Big Small Block engine that will see duty during the season chasing the Brett Deyo Short Track Super Series North, South and Elite Series Schedules.
Dig Racing Shocks tuned by Tim’s Shock Lab / Timmy Buckwalter will be used throughout the season. The team will have full support from VP Racing Lubricants. VP will provide the team with VP Race Fuel, Lubricants, and Anti-Freeze during the season. Leindecker Racing Engines will provide full support to TVD Racing in 2023.
The entire TVD Racing Motor Program will be maintained by Jason Leindecker and his premier team at Leindecker Racing Engines. Leindecker did the unthinkable in ’22, Tanner was racing at Grandview Speedway and suffered a broken engine component at the track during his heat race. While qualified,
The car would not have been able to make the call for the feature. Jason Leindecker left his Coopersburg Race Shop and went to Grandview, made a pitside repair in the TVD Pit area immediately allowing the young VanDoren to start and race in the feature. Tanner VanDoren will be looking to make the Orange County Fair Speedway his home track on Saturday Nights. The new #22 Bicknell Big Block Modified will be slated for the Hard Clay Modified action. Since the OCFS schedule has not been defined yet, Tanner will race at Thunder Mountain Speedway or Afton Raceway weekly on Saturday nights when Orange County is not active.
The TVD Racing Team #22 will follow a “Brent Marks Racing Model” season in ‘23 with their equipment. The team will not shy away from Elite competition on any series. With the backing and support of J.P. Adamsky Trucking the team is well suited to compete with the best in the racing business. The #22 team will start their season in Florida chasing the Brett Deyo Short Track Super Series Sunshine Swing at All-Tech.
The team will then head home to the northeast and chase the Short Track Super Series Elite Series, with trips on the North and South Series races slated on the schedule. The Super DIRTCar Series events are also slated on the TVD Racing calendar, You will find the team hitting 12 to 14 Super DIRTcar events in ’23. Weedsport Speedway and Land of Legends Raceway will be penciled in for attendance when time allows.
Tanner does not have a Friday Night ride lined up currently. He is looking to secure a ride for Friday Night competition. The team does not have a Spec 358 car available and would entertain offers to run equipment on Friday and any mid-week Thunder On The Hill events at Grandview Speedway. Tanner and The TVD Racing team are planning a full assault on all of the year end races. It will start with the Fonda 200, Outlaw 200 at Fulton Speedway, Super Dirt Week at Oswego, Port Royal Speed Showcase, Eastern States Weekend, and the World Finals at Charlotte, NC are all penciled in for the team.

Tanner will be very busy this season. Michael Murray owner of the MJ12 Motorsports Lafler Dave Orange powered #12 TQ has tabbed Tanner to drive the TQ Midget in events at Evergreen Speedway, Drums PA and Bethel Motor Speedway, in NY. The team will race under the ATQMRA and East Coast TQ banners.
Joseph Adamsky has a full fleet of Sprint Cars that are awaiting Tanner’s availability. This season when time permits Tanner will get the opportunity to drive the Adamsky owned USAC East Coast 360 Wingless Sprint Cars, URC Winged Sprint Cars and Empire Super Sprint Tour. The Joseph Adamsky owned #19 Sprint Car Team will be raced when the schedule fits the younger driver.
Tanner broke into the racing scene in 2020 at Delaware International Speedway with a Short Track Super Series 602 Crate Feature Win. Later in 2020 Tanner won a 602 Qualifier at the Port Royal Speed Showcase and finished in 7th at the Speed Showcase 602 Sportsman 50 Lap event. To finish the ’20 season, Tanner piloted the Pat Guliano #51 602 Sportsman to Eastern States Weekend Championship.
In 2021, Tanner broke in victory lane with a Short Track Super Series 602 win at Bubba’s Raceway Park in Florida. Later in 2021 Tanner graduated from Sportsman racing to a 358 Modified at the Orange County Fair Speedway. Tanner finished 4th in points in his rookie season in 358 Modified.
Tanner then invaded Skyline Racing in NY and scored the 50 Lap Championship in September of 2021. To cap off the ’21 season, Tanner won the Eastern States Weekend Sportsman Championship for the 2nd time in a row.
In 2022, Tanner moved to Big Block Modified competition. With the help of Keith Hoffman and Hoffman Discount Parts and Speed Supplies, Tanner was able to race in the premier Big Block Modified division as a rookie. At Orange County Fair Speedway Tanner made the Elite 12 Point Championship Chase.
The Hoffman Team with Tanner at the wheel finished in the 10th position as a modified rookie. Tanner drove the family owned #22 in Small and Big Block Modified competition throughout the entire northeast. At the ’22 Super Dirt Week in Oswego NY, Tanner put the family owned Spec 358 #22 Small Block Modified into the richest Super Dirt Week DIRTcar 200 lap Modified event.
The young driver finished in the Top-20 racing with the best in the business all afternoon in an underpowered Spec 358 Modified vs. Big Block powered Modified legends. Tanner was also able to score the Modified Rookie of the race in the Keith Hoffman Racing 6over at the ’22 version of the Eastern States Weekend. In late October,
At Evergreen Speedway in Drums, PA Tanner scored an East Coast TQ’S – King Of Green TQ Championship event win on pavement in the Michael Murray #12 owned MJ12 Motorsports TQ.
The TVD Racing #22 Team is led by Jason VanDoren. Jay raced 600 Micro Sprints successfully for many years before retiring from driving to focus on Tanner’s driving career. Michael Murray is a team mechanic and tire specialist. Donny Hockman is another team mechanic who helps keep the wheels spinning for the TVD Racing Team. Donny is a former crew chief for JR. Crouse and Rick Laubach.
