Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY DIETRICH RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – “Double-D” Danny Dietrich is certainly no stranger to big results at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway, and although the Gettysburg native was unable to achieve the highest success in the Speedway’s opening pair, the former track champion performed at a tall standard, capping the two-race week with a pair of top-five finishes.
Dietrich, driver of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, #1 Cochran Expressway, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, finished third and fourth in Lincoln’s Icebreakers, which kicked off Thursday, February 23, before concluding on Sunday, February 26.
Impressive enough, Dietrich was forced to claw his way to each of his respective outcomes, battling from sixth to third on Thursday before rallying from 11th to fourth on Sunday.
Thursday’s program was conducted as the result of an early weather forecast predicting poor weather for Saturday.
“Not a bad way to get the Pennsylvania season started. A big thanks to everyone who came out and supported the shows, especially on Thursday. It’s the fans who make this all possible for us and we couldn’t do it without you,” Dietrich expressed. “We intended on returning to Florida this weekend to race with the Outlaws at Volusia, but it’s tough to justify the cost when we can hopefully race in our own backyard. If Mother Nature cooperates, we should have a great weekend ahead.”
