Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing were well on their way to their second top-ten result of the season Friday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama.
Unfortunately, the former Port Royal Speedway track champion faded ever so slightly, capping their evening in the Talladega Sprint Car Showdown with an 11th-place score, backing up one position after starting tenth on the A-Main grid.
In fact, Zearfoss, ace of his own Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, Milton Hershey School, A. Lane Living, No. 3Z sprint car, battled as far forward as seventh at the legendary “Hornet’s Nest,” showing major momentum as he continues his quest toward his first Series victory of the season.
A little further back in the running order, the “Jonestown Jet,” who calls Jonestown, Pennsylvania, home, capped his weekend through the south with a 14th-place result at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi, on Saturday, March 25; he started 13th.
“On the whole, not a bad weekend for this Brock Zearfoss Racing team. We did everything we could to accomplish back-to-back top-ten efforts, but I think our inexperience at those two tracks kinda held us back some. Regardless, it’s good to be back out on the road,” Zearfoss explained. “Having the opportunity to race close to home and work out of our own shop is always great, but we enjoy what we’re doing. We have some laps at Devil’s Bowl, so we’ll do what we can to pick up where we left off and contend for additional top-tens.”
